Laura was literally a Godsend. I was lost and didn’t know which way to turn when my father suddenly became a fall hazard; not to mention the emotions of facing the reality that I had reached the end of my ability to care for Dad at home. I prayed on it and felt all alone. Later that day Laura called me and next thing I knew she was on it. Incredible! A day later Dad was in a secure, fantastic short term facility. Laura took the time to visit my Dad in person and realized we needed to go in a different direction for his long term care. We spent the next day looking at permanent homes for Dad and a few days later Dad was admitted, and is adjusting to life in a new setting with 24/7 care. Thank you, Care Advocates and Laura Daniels, As I began researching the potential need to relocate my mother from her current memory care (MC) facility out of state, I was referred to Laura Daniels, RN, by the Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases. Laura quickly educated me on the most important factors to consider when selecting a memory care facility, especially since I had not been involved in choosing her current one. She emphasized two key aspects: the adequacy of the staff-to-patient ratio and the use of safety features tailored to each individual resident's needs. Together, we reviewed the pros and cons of numerous memory care facilities in San Antonio, with particular attention to these criteria. This process helped me efficiently narrow my options to one specific facility, which became my first (and only) choice for my mother. I met Laura Daniels after having spent ten days with my elderly mother in a rehab hospital following a fall. The directors and staff strongly urged me to contact her well before my mother and I left the hospital, but I was overwhelmed with the gravity and extent of change and hesitated. I called Laura as the last loose end to tie up before I took my mother back to her house. Frankly, I was distraught and intimidated with the whole circumstance. That all changed when Laura Daniels answered the phone. I'm extremely thankful I was referred to Liz Herrera. I was stressed out trying to find services for my dad. I needed something ASAP my dad recently got out from hospital from rehabilitation and didn't have anything lined up.. I called a few places and i didn't get anywhere.. so I ended up back to square one. It took one phone call and Liz was able to help me.. she requested certain information and took off from there. That same day later that evening I received an email from Liz I was surprised she was still working on my case. She gave me a list of facilities to pick from that accepted my dad insurance and the name of the person to speak too. Today I called Laura to let her know that because of her my mom is alive today. To start with, Laura was recommended to me by a Social Worker to support me with resources for my elderly mom. Laura was warm, friendly and professional. She provided resources for an assortment of services. At one point she strongly emphasized/suggested that I avoid putting my mom on hospice. Even though my mom qualified for hospice I went with Home Health instead to strengthen my mom. Two months later my mom was literally dying. Thanks to God, the quick call to 911, etc my mom pulled out, even stronger than before. If I had not taken Laura’s advice I would have lost my mom on 3/17th. I said my goodbyes to my mom that day at the ER. On Hospice she would have been made comfortable and would have passed in minutes. Every day is now Mother’s Day. Thank you Laura.

She’s coordinating and taking me to all my dr appointments understanding and remembering all that’s discussed since I lost all short term memory from a terrible accident. There aren’t enough words of thanks for her being found to help me with all my medical issues and finding the most respected and knowledgeable doctors who take the time during appointments with me and are conservative and thorough with every health issue I have (15+)... Laura has been not only a true blessing to me, but follows up with me every day even when we have no appointments, has lovingly brought flowers occasionally to brighten my day. I’m mostly home bound, esp w Coronavirus and my lack of an immune system requiring weekly SubQ infusions that userp all my energy and quality of life from anywhere 2-4 days afterwards, leaving only a day or two out of bed weekly. I’ve never known anyone to be as empathetic, patient, sincere, always looks and has a beautiful heart and personality. I do believe (as I’m crying now writing) that everything happens for a reason; my mom who’s always been my best friend and medical helper, now my angel and no longer with me has placed Laura in my life to help me and I feel very strongly that she placed and knew she was the one I’ve needed to help me. Laura coordinating every dr appt, picking up my prescriptions for me and the occasional items I need ASAP from the pharmacy or grocery for me is so appreciated.
